Sunday Edition: The PARA Method

Hey Friend!

Just got back from a fantastic week floating along the Northeastern coast of the USA and Canada, I had a great time thinking about all the things I want to do with the YouTube channel, the newsletter, and a few other ideas I have coming down the pipe. I will be releasing the video tomorrow, the video is about Tiago Forte’s PARA method. Here are the important notes that I took away and will share in the video.

🌟 Uncluttering Life with PARA! 🌟

Feeling swamped amidst a sea of digital files, tasks, and bookmarks? Well, it's time to introduce a little magic to your digital life. Enter the PARA method, a brilliant brainchild of productivity guru, Tiago Forte. Let's get started, shall we?

📂 What is PARA?

PARA is an acronym that stands for:

1. Projects - Tasks with a deadline.

2. Areas - Ongoing parts of life needing attention.

3. Resources - Topic-specific collections of information.

4. Archives - Outdated or completed materials.

✨ The Magic of PARA Explained

1. Projects: Think 'Finish presentation by Friday'. Once it's complete, it moves out!

2. Areas: The constants like maintaining good health or ensuring your pet's happiness. No end, just regular monitoring.

3. Resources: Your digital bookshelf of specific topics, from "All about cacti" to "Mediterranean recipes".

4. Archives: The resting place for old projects, past course materials, or outdated resources. Out of sight but never lost.

💼 PARA-fy Your Life in 4 Steps:

1. Audit: Dive deep into your digital realm - emails, files, bookmarks, the works!

2. Categorize: Slot everything using the PARA framework.

3. Maintain: Weekly refreshes to keep everything in its right place.

4. Celebrate: Revel in the newfound clarity and efficiency of your digital workspace.

🌱 Final Thoughts:

In a world overflowing with information, the PARA method offers a refreshing lens to view, categorize, and make sense of the digital chaos. Give it a shot, and you might find your digital zen.

Until next time, keep creating, keep sharing, and stay inspired.

Thanks!

If you’ve been wondering where this newsletter wandered off to, you’re not alone. It’s been hibernating—but unlike the snacks I ate during the break, it’s not gone for good....

Happy Sunday Friend, 🗓️ The last couple of weeks were crazy with travel getting reestablished at work and home and starting on two new ideas that I’ll share with the group as they get closer to kicking off to the public. Unfortunately, my video plans for the last couple of weeks were dashed, but I will be returning this week. So what do I write about now? Well, one of the two ideas that I am working on is starting a small community outreach for disadvantaged kids in Washington, DC. 🔬My lovely...

Happy Sunday, Friend! This week's video is about Eli Goldratt's Critical Chain an interesting book that details the importance of work processes from start to finish. The Power of a Single Buffer Traditional project management often finds us padding each task with extra time “just in case.” However, this can lead to procrastination as we mistakenly think we have more time. Goldratt’s approach? Have one cumulative buffer at the project’s end. This strategy deals with unexpected delays more...
